Rwenzori
Mountains of the Moon — the most spectacular race destination in East Africa.
About Rwenzori
The Rwenzori Mountains form the border between Uganda and the DRC and are home to some of the most dramatic scenery in Africa — glaciated peaks above 5,000m, bamboo forests, and the legendary "Mountains of the Moon" that Ptolemy wrote about 2,000 years ago. Kasese is the gateway town, a friendly place with warm people, and the base for the Rwenzori Marathon. Trek pairs the race weekend with optional foothills hikes, Queen Elizabeth National Park safari extensions, and Lake Bunyonyi wind-downs.
